Week 4 Kidstuff Art Camp

*Art Camp is for any age or ability level camper and will be from 10am to 2pm.  This is a different time schedule than all other day camps.*

Kidstuff Art Camp is a week filled with typical camp activities, arts and crafts, water play, music and PE activities, special guest visits and structured group games. Each day there is a specific social skill focus, centered around individual and group art activities that encourage campers to explore all of their senses and utilize their imagination to create their own masterpieces of art! A large portion of each day will be devoted to specific art activities that introduce campers to various craft materials while remaining sensitive to the needs of campers who are working through issues dealing with sensory integration. With exposure to new textures and materials presented in a fun and exciting environment, this is a wonderful opportunity for your child to learn how to confidently explore and interact with the world around him.

Wild Wild West
Kidstuff Art Campers will take a trip with us back in time to learn about life in the Wild West.  Even cowboys had social rules and expectations to follow.  Social interaction, role playing, conversation skills, and many more friendship focused activities center around the Wild West themed fun. Campers will make western crafts, learn about life in the Wild West, and have fun while learning and practicing social skills.

Camp Journey Overnight Camp

Camp Journey is an overnight camp for older elementary students through young adults with Autism. Campers will enjoy many typical camp activities such as swimming, canoeing, archery, climbing wall, fishing, and team building activities such as the ropes course.  Incorporated into each day are social skills lessons revolving around making friends and memories during six fun filled days and nights at Camp Twin Lakes Will-A-Way in Winder, GA.

Due to the unique nature of overnight camp we encourage parents to think about how well prepared thier child is for an overninght camp. Participation by elementary age children and middle/high school students with moderate/severe levels of Autism Spectrum Disorders has been successful for some campers, however campers need to be ready to move around a lot and participate in groups with a 5 camper to 1 adult ratio.  Camp Journey reserves the right to review all applications and make a final decision on camper participation. If you have questions about this special opportunity please email campjourney@alt-spectrum.com
