Summer
Camps

Please note that all sessions of summer camp are now FULL and registration is closed.

Spectrum Camps and Clubs provides a variety of summer camp programs for children age 4-22.  Our camps are specifically designed to meet the social skills, sensory, communication, and behavioral needs of all our campers.  Camps activities are engaging, age appropriate, and focus on social interaction skills.  Please follow the links below to learn about specific camps for all ability levels and ages from 4-22 for both campers on the autism spectrum and their siblings.

Attention Parents:  Elementary campers at all functioning levels and middle/high school campers needing a higher ratio of adult staff to campers will be in small groups this summer.  Groups will be divided by age and ability level.  This change has been made to reflect parent's comments on last year's survey about summer camp.  Fees for all summer day camp groups are $250 per week. Specialty camps are available for middle/high/adults with HFA/Asperger's Syndrome.

Art Camp is for any age or ability level camper and will be from 10am to 2pm.  This is a different time schedule than all other day camps.

Why Spectrum Camps and Clubs?

Spectrum Camps and Clubs provides a variety of camps to meet the different needs of children ages 4 to young adults age 22 with Autism Spectrum Disorders.  Utilizing the knowledge, training, and energy of certified teachers and highly trained paraprofessionals allows Spectrum Camps and Clubs to provide the highest quality camps available to the families of children with Autism.  Spectrum Camps and Clubs provides camp throughout the summer for individuals along all levels of the autism spectrum, from those needing significant adult support to HFA/Asperger's Syndrome, and everything in between.  The smiles, the excitement in their eyes, and the sight of true friendships emerging and growing is all we need to know we're making a difference in their lives.  Our campers say it best, "Camp Spectrum Rocks!"

Our Staff

Spectrum’s Summer Camp Programs are staffed by certified special education teachers and paraprofessionals. These individuals have been trained specifically in the field of autism and have experience with children functioning at various levels of the spectrum. Parents can be confident that their child’s social, language, and behavioral needs are being appropriately addressed in a fun and safe environment during the summer months.

Our History

Spectrum Autism Support Group was established in the fall of 1998 for families, friends, and teachers of children with autism in the Gwinnett County area. Spectrum currently serves over 600 families in Gwinnett County and at least seven surrounding counties. Spectrum is pleased to be able to sponsor school year and summer programs for children of all ages with ASD. All of the programs offered have been developed to provide each child with opportunities to build friendships and generate social awareness within the community while improving self-esteem, self-awareness and independence.

Spectrum is able to reduce camp fees thanks to generous
donations and grants received from our 2011 sponsors.
Thank you so much for your support!

Camp SKIP (Spectrum Kommunity Inclusion Project)

Spectrum's Kommunity Inclusion Project, (SKIP), is a program providing support and training to local camps and churches so that children on the autism spectrum can be included in typical camp or church settings where they can learn crucial social, communication and play skills. Our goal is that all children will learn to work with, play with, respect and value each other, regardless of varying abilities and skills.

Please email us at campskip@atl-spectrum.com to make arrangements for a specific camp or church to receive a free training session.

Training sessions are offered at no charge.  We also provide free follow-up consultation, up to 2 hours per child with autism, in their programs. (There may be a charge for additional hours.) We also train churches for Vacation Bible School and/or Sunday School.
