Team Up To Bring You

Saturday Respite:
The Gift of Time

We are excited about our partnership with First Baptist Duluth for a free respite Saturday once a month.
Spectrum will be providing several paid trained staff to assist the teens and other volunteers.

The upcoming Saturday schedule is:
  • February 25th
  • March 24th

WHAT?
Saturday Respite Care is a program designed especially for children and adults with special needs who live at home ages 4-18. The program includes games, activities, a Bible lesson, crafts and music.  The purpose of Respite Day is to provide rest and support to families and provide a safe Christian environment for people with special needs.

WHEN?
Respite Day is held on a Saturday every month from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and allows families affected by disabilities a much-needed break.

WHERE?
Families may bring their children to the Family Life Center behind First Baptist Duluth for respite care.

WHO?
Respite Day is staffed by volunteers from First Baptist Duluth and trained, paid workers from Spectrum Autism Support Group . At least one volunteer on duty has had CPR training, and adult volunteers have had background checks.

HOW?
There is no cost for Respite Day.  Respite Day is by reservation only. Families of children with special needs who have siblings may bring all of their children to enjoy the Day.  You may register for the upcoming Respite Day only after the current one has passed.
